Ahhh what a nice evening I just had. My friend Melissa invited me out to dinner tonight and I thought "why not". We decided to try out a new pub for supper called Vintage. It opened in the old Alex hotel here in good old Drumheller. It used to be a cess pool of humanity and has a very colorful history. My granny tells me it used be a hotbed of red light activity back in the 30's and it was also a speakeasy back in it's day. More recently it has been the local bar known as the Octane. As once could imagine it's often had a different moniker beginning with the letter C and ending in stain. hee hee Hopefully that stigma will be gone soon.
Steve and Allie had plans to go out to a small nearby community for visiting and supper with some friends of ours. So we said our goodbyes at 4:00. They went their way, I went mine. We spent a couple of good hours chatting, eating and commenting on the general state of affairs in town. How relaxing to enjoy adult company! The pub was child free and our men were fending for themselves....Ahhhhhh this is the way life is occasionally meant to be lived. Thanks gals for a fun evening.
